Does Positive Attitude affect your Health

Being Optimistic or Pessimistic is a natural human trait that develops either through our upbringing and our genes. It is a well known fact believed by medical practitioners that positive attitude affects your health in a positive way. Usually we care only about our diet, exercise and sleep to live a healthy life, but positive attitude in our lifestyle also plays a major role for betterment of our health. This article will explain how our optimistic approach towards various aspects of life improves our health.

During past century our society has accepted the importance of psychological health. Prior to that people used to believe that psychological treatments are only meant for mentally sick or lunatic people. But now people know that diseases like depression and anxiety are common and every person faces it at least once in their life. Apart from medicines, counselling plays an important role in psychological treatments. Most of these counselings revolve around our thinking and attitude towards life. A counselor always try to make us think positive and being optimistic. The truth is that people with positive attitude are very less prone to any psychological disorder.

Optimism improves our immune system response. Even when a person with pessimistic approach is provided some counselling to think positive, the immune system response improves with behavior. [2]

A research done in Finland concluded that optimistic people are three times lesser prone to hypertension, even when risk factors like smoking, obesity, alcohol abuse, physical inactivity and family history are also taken into account. [1]

According to American Journal of Cardiology, apart from food positive behavior can also keep your cholesterol level low, thus improving your cardiovascular health. [3]

An American research concluded that people with most positive attitude are likely to have least blood pressure. [1]

A 2006 study found that optimistic people are least affected with viral infections, even if they are living in an area where the virus has spread. [1]

Several studies done in different parts of world concluded that optimistic people live longer as they have overall better health. [1]

Some researchers believe that a healthy and disease free body is most likely to be optimistic an hence optimistic people face lesser health issues. But once more fact is that so called optimistic people usually follow a healthy lifestyle, which might be responsible for better health. Whatever the matter is, either optimism results in healthy lifestyle or vice-versa, the fact is that positive attitude improves health.


Positive emotions that result from positive attitude last for a long time and help us in developing skills that help us further in life. Positive emotions help us in exploring possibilities. When a kid goes out to play with a happy mood, he/she learns physical skills by playing sports, learns social skills by making new friends and communicating with them and also develops creative approach. These positive skills developed by positive attitude help that child for all of his/her life. So positive approach towards life not only makes us healthy but also makes our life better.

A pessimist might live a long life sometimes, but chances of it being happy and healthy are very less. So be positive and make others too.

Can God cure Diseases : Do Prayers really Heal

Ever since we know, God has acted as an unseen doctor, on whom people of different religions relied to get their problems solved. Diseases are also one of such problems. No matter how small or how big the disease is, people believe that God can cure it. Here we are trying to find if God has really cured any disease and do the prayers of common people really get replied. The answer to this question is not easy to get, as some scientific people don't believe that there is a God sitting above and listening to all your prayers. And even if he is listening, then how can he cure it without even touching the patient.

As per our understanding of the above matter the answer to this question lies in your belief. Even some well qualified doctors believe that God can cure diseases.
Do you know that God has given us diseases and sufferings to teach us those things that we can never learn through books, seminars, comfort and prosperity.
If we always remain healthy then we don't know the value of our body. The truth is that we don't feel our body when its healthy. We notice our body parts only when we feel some discomfort in them.

Why don't we rely on God for small diseases ?
You would have never seen a person asking God to give him relief from cold or a pimple, except children. It because of the fact that he / she know that these smaller conditions can be easily cured without any intervention of God. Yes, he does. But your ability to get cured depends on your belief. According to some religions, sometimes god does not cure your disease, which is not because of lack of belief, but because God has some other plans for you and he wants you to suffer for some more time as he wants to teach you something more for your betterment.

How does belief work in curing diseases ?
Belief is a positive energy. Even God can't exist without belief. That belief fills a person with positive energy which works in the background to heal a person. Our positive belief makes some psychological changes in our body and some proteins and chemical are released in our body which increases the effect of medicines that we are taking for our medical condition. But reverse may happen if a person starts believing that he/she will not be cured. So the belief is everything.

Do God cure every Disease ?

No, sometimes he does and sometimes don't. God is there for a bigger purpose. We can understand everything happening around us. He can see a bigger picture while we can't. Sometimes a slight delay in going somewhere due to a minor accident can save someone from a major accident that occurred with vehicles moving 5 minutes ahead. Accidents are not everything that God plans. A minor disease can sometime save us from a worst disease. A fatal disease is sometimes better when we see a bigger picture of our life. Sometimes people wish that they should have died earlier instead of living a long life alone, which is worst that a fatal disease.

Just believe is God. Everything he is doing is for a reason. That reason may be just to teach you something that you can't learn through anything else.

God has created everything from zero. He has created life from non-living. Our science is just trying to understand what he has created, by analyzing samples in a laboratory. Whole mankind and this universe are products developed in laboratory of God. The Genes that mankind is trying to understand, which are responsible for everything happening in our body, are itself an example of an intelligent design made by God. So believing in him to get cured is completely right.

Some people think that religion / culture makes us more dependent on god, rather on depending on ourselves, which makes us taking lesser care of our own body and being unhealthy. But some people think in other way and believe that your religion gives you internal peace and makes your mind free from any psychological disease which is a major health benefit. Here we will try to find that which of these theories is more correct and either your religion is just for your social well being or does it also have any impact (positive or negative) on your health.

There are two types of views about God in different religion:

  • The God is there to love you, forgive you and guide you.
  • The God is there to punish you for your bad acts.

Both of these views want the people to do good things, but the way they do it can affect your health. If you always remain in fear of God, then your health will be affected in negative way. While if you decide your acts to get the love and forgiveness of god, then it will affect your health in a positive way. Both of these views affect your mental health, one in positive and one in negative way. But your mental health can very easily impact your physical health as well. A mentally unfit person can't take care of his own body properly.

Meditation

Some religions make their followers indulge in meditation practices to feel the nature and god itself. The deeper you go into such practices, the more peace you will find. Some meditation practices make you follow some postures, which are itself equivalent to some physical workouts. Such practices even if followed as a part of religion or just as a workout, can give you both mental and physical fitness. Some meditations are known for their good effect in treating some diseases.

Music, Songs and Dance

Music, Songs and Dance are part of some religions and followed with a lot of faith. Music in itself is a healer. Health Benefits of Music are already mentioned by us. Scripts of the religious songs are either to praise the God or to teach some good lessons to the followers, which are itself a better thing for mind. Music and songs have the ability to treat mental illnesses. In some religions some stories are said with music, songs and dance, which increase our concentration and learning skills. How much you believe in Religion matters !
Some people rely on their religion just for their social life, else they have nothing to do with it. For such people there is no impact of religion on their health. Some people have strong faith on God, but can't spare more than hour per week for their religion and god. The health of such people might get affected by both their religion and their other physical acts. But some people are there who have very strong feelings about their religion and can't eat or live without worshiping their God for even a single day. Such people either have very good health in all aspects or they completely neglect their overall health.

Feeling of being connected with something bigger can sometimes make people do some unbelievable tasks, which shown their mental health. Bu that is possible only if that person know that he has to do that thing and god will help him in his task. So if your religion/culture provides you that positive energy and the ability to believe in yourself, then nothing is better than that.

Believing in your culture or religion does not mean that you can completely forget all other physical activities and God will take care of your body. If there are no physical workout as a part of your religion to make you physically fit, then you must do them separately as an exercise to keep your body in proper shape. Most of the religions can give mental peace but not all of them can make you physically fit. No religion prohibits you from doing a workout. An unfit body can't be of any use for God. We often forget the balance

As a kid we give time to both studies and playground. Playground not provides exercise to keep us fit but also entertains the kid. As we go for higher studies we start to give full time to studies, no time for workout. As we get a job, we concentrate only on our package and think only about making it better. At that time most of us don't even remember when you did run last time. Years pass by and we don't even run, however we keep running behind our ambitions, but don't run with our legs in the real life. The wealthiest countries are those where the health level is highest. However its not attained in a single generation, as it takes time of at least two generation to grow the overall wealth of a country.

Being a writer on a health website, i will always ask you to remain fit for every moment of your life. Earn wealth but don't compromise on your health. Being able to buy a good health insurance don't mean that you can purchase health. Just like you earn money, you have to earn health as well. Most of us (especially those who have seen a lot of ups and downs in life) at a certain point must have thought about ending your life. But do u really think that you have the right to end your life. Sometimes we are in so much physical or psychological pain that we think to end all that pain by ending ourselves. Our life outcome of someone else's effort. Those someone else are not just our parents, its not just our
mother or father. Those someone include our friends, brothers and sisters, our spouse, our children. Life is not just taking birth. Life is much more than that. Its also connected to a number of other lives. We are a just a part of a social network. Our one decision can make a lot of effects on lives of other people.

Sometimes we think that others don't like us, don't trust us, they don't need us any more. But its just our thinking (mostly for a few hours or days). Some of us make a very hard decision during that time. If we wait for a few more hours or speak to someone regarding our feelings then we might not take such step. We might think that no body need us, but there is always somebody who can't live without you, for whom you are very special. That special person may be your father , mother, friend, spouse, son or daughter. You might be thinking that that person don't need you anymore as he / she is angry with you. But it doesn't mean that he / she will live happily without you. If you love him / her then you will not want to make them unhappy and regret their one fight with you for their whole life.

Even if you think that that special person want to get rid of you, but you love him / her and want to fulfill his / her wish by ending your life. In that case there might be somebody else who need you much more than him / her.

We think that our life our own, but its not. it belongs to everybody who are part of your life. Just think about those who will feel lonely without you. Who loved you more than their own life, who struggled to make you a better person, who took you to doctors when you were ill, who wept when you were in pain, who wanted to make your life better, who spent their lives to make you something. It doesn't matter if you have reached you goal in life or not. But there are still chances. But if you end yourselves those chances will be gone. There is always a way towards better life. Don't let that chance end. HOPE is everything. Hope for better !

Human mind has an immeasurable strength and complexity that is beyond understanding. You will be surprised of what you can accomplish if you are going to do your best all the time. You have to pass through certain boundaries before jumping into a conclusion that it is all that you can accomplish. However, once you get through these hindrances, you will want to face more challenging ones. As a result, you will become a lot stronger than you had expected.

  5. Volunteer for a cause. If you are sharing what you have, you will feel more successful. Helping other people is like helping yourself.
  6. Try something new. Learning a new hobby, traveling to a different place and trying a new cuisine will keep yearning for a longer life since you are always looking forward for something.

Immortality: Myth or Reality

Immortality is the one thing that has driven men crazy since ancient times. Some are still searching for it. The reason is simple. Nobody wants to die. Death is the worst fear and search for immortality will always remain in this world. But this search for immortality has given a number of lessons and gifts to mankind. This search has taken some people in wrong directions but also taken some towards great scientific discoveries.
Religions are also created for immortality and remove fear of death. This thing is true for most of the religions. All religions and castes are created to remove the fear of death.

If we begin from castes, then Castes are a group of people belonging to a particular trade. When we are in group, we feel a feeling of security. Basically this feeling of security removes fear if death.
Now if we talk about Religion, then religions were group of people from a certain locality or country. Religions include a number of castes. So religions are bigger groups, so its effect to remove fear is bigger than caste group. Different philosophies were created by different religions to connect men with god. Connection with god is the ultimate way to remove fear of death. In this way religion make its very hard impression in the life and mind of simple human beings. However there we intellectuals in all religion who created methods of meditation to connect men with ultimate power of universe.

In this way men tried to remove fear by creating religions, meditation and ways of worship. But some men with scientific approach also tried to make men immortal.

Science and Fear of Death

Medical science succeeded to increase the lifespan of men. A number of new medicines and vaccination were discovered by scientists and some life-threatening diseases were fully removed from various countries. In similar way men made a number of discoveries to make make life comfortable. For example electricity, bulb, telephone, fan, airplane and lot more. All these things are in some way related to postpone the death. But none of them succeeded in removing death from men's life. Medicines and luxuries made human life comfortable and increased lifespan but death can't be removed.

Some intellectual people tried to use meditation to connect men with the energy of universe, and concepts like souls and traveling from one body to another is discovered. According to some philosophies soul never dies. It takes birth as a baby, dies as an old man and then again takes birth as a new baby. Some people strongly believe in this philosophy while some don't. It may be true but it may also be true that we believe in soul so that we feel that we are immortal. If we think like an intellectual, the population of world is constantly increasing and if each body has a soul the from where are these new souls coming into existence.

Death is Truth (The only Truth)

We are living in the age of technology where every thing is in the form of 1(one) and 0(zero). If 1 is everything then 0 is nothing. If 1 is life , 0 is death. Usually people don't like to talk much about death. Do u know why ? Its the fear of death. Nobody ever want to die, or let his near ones die. Even thinking about our death or death of a closed one makes us uncomfortable. Its normal. Its true for everybody. Life in itself is a struggle for existence.

Can death be explained ?

Death is not a very simple phenomena. Its a constant process that starts from our birth and finishes with our body, which we call death. First we will discuss it as a biological concept. Till we are in a mother's womb we are getting life. Our body organs are formed and new cell and tissues are formed. After we are born, the wear and tear starts on our body. Some cells die and body generates new cells. But the process of generation of new cells is higher till we are fully grown into a man or woman. It remains balanced till a certain age. But after some time the process of generation of new cells becomes slower than death rate of cells. Here we are not just talking about cells and tissues of outer body but also of the inner organs. Our immune system also starts to degrade. Combination of these negative features becomes the reason for various diseases. All diseases occur due to mis-functioning of our vital organs. For example diabetes occur due to mis-functioning of Pancreas, Blood pressure occur because our blood can't control the cholesterol level and elasticity of blood vessels is also degraded. So in the end when one of our vital organs is degraded to the extent that it can't work, then our body dies. Usually we call it death when our heart stops beating or our breathing stops.

Death is Truth

If we talk with a positive attitude then life is truth. But what do we call positive ? We only call positive that is good for us. But is it correct to to say positive to those things which are good for us. According to me thuth is that which is the beginning. Beginning of human body is just a part of sequence of steps. But truth is that beginning of all things is zero. Universe started from a zero and in the end every thing will be zero again. That means zero is truth. Our life also starts from a zero and also ends in a zero. Which means zero (death) is truth.

Philosophy about Death

According to a number of religions, life is a never ending process. Our body is a part of it. Truth is our soul, which can never die. Our body dies because it has certain limitation of time. It can't remain healthy after certain amount of time and thus our body have to die. But soul travels from one body to another and get new birth.
That was the religious philosophy, but it can also be explained in a scientific manner. Life continues in different forms. It doesn't need a soul to there. Our body is composed of different elements present in nature. When we die, either our body is cremated or burnt according to the religion that we follow. But thing remains same our body got mixed with soil, water and air. All these things produces life in new forms. It may be in the form of trees or insects. You might not like it if i say that you would be insect after death, so lets say you will be a tree. Fruits grow on tree. Humans, Birds and various animals eat those fruits and vitamins and minerals present in those fruits help them grow their body. Thus our human body helped in development of various forms of life. Thus life continues.
You can also assume it like an ice cube. Suppose you are an ice cube and when you are poured in a glass of water, your death process starts. You might think that you are going to die. But you are dissolving in the form from which you were generated. Just your state is changing from solid to liquid. When the ice cube is fully dissolved it mixes with that water in the glass. Now if you want to extract that same cube again, its impossible as the molecules of that ice cube are mixed into the complete complete glass of water.
I hope that my explanation of death will help you in understanding death in a better way as its nothing to fear about. Its a part of journey and its the only truth.

Life and Death is a never ending topic for discussion. Everybody have their own views and philosophies, but those views don't change the meaning of life and death. It only shows how that particular person thinks about it. Views of every second person will be different from the first. Difference might be minor but there will be.

What is Life ?

Is life just taking birth, growing up with your parents, getting married and watching you son / daughter and then their son/ daughter.Then finally saying goodbye to all. This is very common thinking about life. But if you think in that way, it means you are living a very normal life with no fun at all and waiting for death.
Some people think tat life is time to have fun. They like to travel, party, drink, eat and say that this is life. They also know that death is certain but they want to enjoy every moment of it. Other people think that these people are wasting their money for no reason. But if you ask them they will say that they want to live (without misery).
What do u think which one of these people know what life is ? The answer is nobody knows. But what matters is how you live that life. Life is an opportunity. Don't waste it for normal reason just like a common man. If life is coal under the ground, you can either make it diamond or just let it be there where it is. Others will use it for their own reasons and you will suffer.
There are three types of people. First, who live a normal life and die. Second who enjoy every moment of life and then die. And Third, who try to find and answer to life, they keep searching for the answer through books, preachers and meditation. I think that the second and third type of people are on the better way. At least they know what they are doing with their lives.
Life is a journey. You can either live it like a donkey (controlled by others) or as a master of your own. You know which one is better.
Sometimes people say that they want to enjoy every moment of life but can't due to the situations. There may be some problems in your life or with your near ones, which keep binding you with their pain. But that doesn't mean you can enjoy life. You can enjoy life where you are. You don't know to go on a beach to be happy. Otherwise everyone living on the beaches would be happy.
Happiness and enjoyment is something that belongs to you. You don't need to search for it anywhere. Its your own way of living, your thinking that makes you happy. Circumstances and current environment can just change your mood for a few moments.
Some people think they will be happy while drinking, but they can't do it whole day.
Some think they will be happy on a vacation, but you can't be on leave all the time.
You can live a happy life where you are, just try to be happy and put your efforts in the best way to make your life happy.

What is Death?

Its the question that nobody can answer. Everybody have his own philosophies. No body know whats true. Some say that its an end. Some say that its a new beginning. But one thing is certain that its end of your body. Every thing that is born comes to an end, so is with body. Every body have a hidden desire to beat death and become immortal. But nothing is immortal in this mortal world.
According to a philosophy, the concept of soul is just a output of our hidden desire to remain immortal. We can't believe that we would not remain in this world without our body.
Don't worry anything about death as its not in your hand, but your life is. Make it beautiful and full of happiness.

Is there any Afterlife ? Are there Souls ?

Some people keep saying no to all pleasures of life so that they can get heaven, but nobody ever returned from heaven to tell weather he/she got those pleasures or not. If you think like an intellectual person, we have got five senses in our body (touch, smell, taste, sight, speak, listen). We feel all the pleasure due to these senses. All these senses are contained in this body. But if we don't have this body, then can we feel pleasure. Did you ever tried to find if the soul have some senses. Even if there are souls, they can't feel anything. So why should we sacrifice our present for an unknown life after death. That's why i say that enjoy life.
