Migraine Headache, Attack, Symptoms, Causes, Treatment and Medicines

Migraine Headache: It is usually caused due to some brain chemicals and disorder between nervous system and vascular system.

Migraine Attack: It’s the extreme state of Migraine Headache in which nausea and vomiting occurs.

Migraine Symptoms :

Common Symptoms of Migraine Headache are:

  • Pain in Forehead around the eyes.

  • Or Pain in the back of Head

  • Usually pain is on one side of Head but in one-third cases it can happen on both sides.

  • Usually Migraine pain changes side from one attach to another

Common Symptoms of Migraine Attack are due to sympathetic nervous activity which causes :

  • Nausea

  • Vomiting

  • Diarrhea

  • No relief from Oral Medication (because food does not go from Stomach to small intestine and thus medicines are not absorbed by intestine).

  • Cold Hands and Feet (Due to decrease in the speed of blood circulation).

  • Blurred Vision

  • Sensitivity to light and sound

Migraine Causes:

  • Alcohol

  • Chocolate

  • Stress

  • Sleep Disturbances

  • Cigarette Smoking

  • Fasting

Migraine Treatment:  This disease should be diagnosed at an early stage to get better treatment. Apart from that one should follow these things to prevent Migraine Attacks:

  • Fixed Schedule for Sleeping

  • Regular Exercise

  • Avoid fasting

  • Avoid the food that triggers Migraine

  • Avoid bright and flashing light

Migraine Medicine: Triptans, Ergots, Midrin. Always consult a doctor before using these medicines.
