Cone cells in our eyes are responsible for color vision and they are of three types to distinguish the three primary colors: red, green and blue. All colors are made by combination of these colors and thus evaluated by these perfectly balanced cone cells. But if certain type of cone cells are missing or have got their peaks shifted then it causes color-blindness. Even if one type of cone cells are missing then whole color spectrum is affected. Usually color blindness occur due to genetic reasons.
