Being optimistic can help you figure out the most viable solution to the problem. Instead of using your time and energy sulking over failures, it will be a lot better to channel them to finding solutions. There are distressing things that cannot be changed but keeping a positive attitude can help you get a fresh start.

Complimenting others can help you and the person receiving the compliment feel better too but (it should be sincere of course).If you look at the better things in other people, you will see life in a brighter light.
  4. Reward yourself. Research says that people who reward themselves tend to be happier and more successful. Therefore you should take vacation once in a while in order to reflect and recharge. Going to the movies, eating somewhere a little fancy, playing sports with friends or simply sitting on the couch all day thinking of nothing can help prevent negative thoughts.
  5. Volunteer for a cause. If you are sharing what you have, you will feel more successful. Helping other people is like helping yourself.
  6. Try something new. Learning a new hobby, traveling to a different place and trying a new cuisine will keep yearning for a longer life since you are always looking forward for something.
