Sound of "OM" is considered sacred in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism. It is also known as the very first sound of the cosmos.

Om (ॐ) is a Sanskrit sound of Indian Origin. In Devanagari it is written as ओं oṃ [õː], औं auṃ [ə̃ũ], or ओ३म् om [õːm]). This mystical one word is also considered as a complete mantra in itself.  Omkara (ओंकार oṃkāra) or aumkara (औंकार auṃkāra) are also the versions of the same sound Om (ॐ).

Chanting OM treats fear, rage, anxiety :  Emotions such as fear, rage and anxiety are generated by our limbic system. Chanting OM deactivates our limbic system and thus saves us from these negative emotions.
